Academic Outreach Director

JACs client is a private education technology company that is headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam and provides K-12 after-school educational services across Southeast Asia. We are leaders in English language teaching, competitive debating, test preparation, and admissions consulting.

Position Overview

The role will report directly to the School Leadership, assuming an integral role within the Schools Senior Leadership Team. It will closely collaborate with various department heads across the institution.

Leadership and Vision

• Cultivate an environment conducive to the effective shared vision, serving as a prominent thought leader and ambassador for the school in the field of Vietnamese studies.
• Spearhead academic, research, and engagement initiatives within a comprehensive vision of Vietnamese studies, representing the Schools interests among multiple stakeholders.
• Elevate the Schools academic standing in the realm of integrated education in Vietnam in comparison to peer institutions.

Collaboration and Partnerships

• Establish and sustain a robust rapport between the school and MOET, ensuring compliance, resource accessibility, and support for the Schools educational objectives.
• Foster a culture of impactful interdisciplinary collaboration within the School, forming partnerships and alliances across the School community, including parents.
• Serve as a liaison with external entities and organizations in relation to programs and opportunities related to Vietnamese courses and integration.

Program Development and Management

• Innovate new and developmentally appropriate methods for integrating Vietnamese studies and language into the IB curriculum across all age groups.
• Manage the departmental budget for Vietnamese studies and language.
• Furnish faculty with precise and tailored instructional strategies to bolster their facilitation of Vietnamese studies and language learning and implementation.

Teaching and Learning Support

• Offer instructional, pedagogical, and curricular guidance and supervision to department faculty in Vietnamese language and integration.
• Lead comprehensive school-wide endeavors to utilize data, both internal and external, to inform curricular and pedagogical enhancements in the teaching of Vietnamese studies and language.
• Regularly observe faculty members and deliver clear feedback on pedagogical practices, ensuring the successful integration of the curriculum.
• Provide backing for the design and execution of internal assessments geared toward enhancing student learning and aligning with Vietnamese curriculum integrated standards.

Parent and Community Engagement

• Drive proactive communication efforts pertaining to the integrated academic program and School mission and vision with parents or guardians of students studying Vietnamese language, ensuring comprehensive support for all students.
• Collaborate with the schools administrative teams to guarantee the delivery of information to parents in Vietnamese, where applicable.

Student Support and Liaison

• Act as an intermediary between faculty, school counselors, and administration concerning student health, care, and discipline, particularly when these matters impact the integrated programs teaching and learning.
• Offer support to the admissions process by evaluating the Vietnamese language proficiencies of potential students.

Human Resources and Staffing

• Conduct interviews and provide recommendations for teachers and assistants based on their Vietnamese language proficiency and pedagogical capabilities.

Resource Management

• Assist in determining the acquisition of necessary supplies, library books, textbooks, and materials to support integration and the Vietnamese studies and language department.
