JOB SUMMARY

OUCRU’s central communications department is based in Ho Chi Minh City, but support internal and external communications across the entire OUCRU programme. You will be working as part of small communications team to support central communications for the OUCRU programme, as well as internal communications projects specific to the Ho Chi Minh City Unit.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications stated below, the ideal candidate for this position will be a comms professional with some experience working in the not-for-profit sector.

• You will be working in a team to implement communications activities across the OUCRU programme, under the immediate guidance/mentorship of the Communications Manager.

• Maintaining content, editing, and creating new content for the OUCRU website, in collaboration with content owners in OUCRU research and operational groups.

• Content development for OUCRU social media platforms.

• Maintaining and contributing to OUCRU’s digital asset management system.

• Contributing to press engagement, including assisting with press releases and contributing to OUCRU press database.

• Contributing to event management, including event promotion, planning and coordination, photography and reporting.

• General graphic design support, including posters, presentations and branded promotional materials.

• Contribution to internal communications channels, such as SharePoint Online, with support of internal communications officer.

• Simple video production, including podcasts.

• Support for live stream production on social media where appropriate.

• Reporting: contribute to comms team metrics gathering, and assist with annual and ad hoc monitoring and reporting.

LOCATION

This post is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. There will be a requirement to travel within Viet Nam and internationally.

HOURS OF WORK

Full time. 37.5 hours per week.

TENURE

Initially for one year, including a 2 month probation period, with possibility of extension.

ESSENTIALCRITERIA

· Experience working as a professional communications officer

· Excellent spoken and written Vietnamese and English

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in cross-cultural settings

· Experience developing content for social media and websites.

· Understanding of principles of branding.

· Graphic design skills, intermediate expertise on Adobe Creative products.

· Basic video editing skills.

· Highly organized

· Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, and yet be a team player

· Willingness to perform other tasks requested by Communications Manager

DESIREDCRITERIA

· Experience working in communications in not-for-profit and/or health related sector

· Experience supporting internal and external events

· Science communication experience

· Photography skills

·Training skills
