Mô tả công việc

1. Farm Operations

- Competently and safely operate tractors, trucks, and associated machinery and equipment to complete tasks in a timely manner

- Assist with the haul out for cane seeds as directed and compost application within the farm area

- Check the irrigation systems are working effectively, and work collaboratively with supervisors and other Farm Hands to rectify issues as needed

- Load and drive trucks between farms to deliver equipment and machinery as required

- Mix and apply fertilizer and chemicals in accordance with the manufacturer’s directions

- Undertake general repair and routine maintenance on farm machinery (planned and unplanned)

- Ensure all machines and workplaces are kept clean and in working order

2. Picking and Packing

- Assist in the harvesting of sugar cane and loading into trailers

- Where required, undertake slashing, discing, mulching, and mowing duties

3. Harvesting/Haul Out

- Providing a safe, reliable, cost-effective harvesting service

- Carry out general maintenance and repair of plant and equipment (planned and unplanned)

- Actively participate in operational planning within the harvest team

- Maximise the value of the crop production grown on Company farms

- Minimise crop damage and maintenance of crop health through good hygiene and workplace practices

- Follow all required safety and legislative requirements for operating machinery

4. Administration

- Keep and maintain records of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions

- Complete and submit all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner including but not limited to pre-starts, checklists, forms etc

Yêu cầu công việc

- Heavy Rigid (HR) QLD Drivers Licence

- Previous Farm Hand experience

- Knowledge and experience of farm machinery

- CPR Certificate (HLTAID009) or Equivalent

- First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) or Equivalent

- Ability to work under general direction and supervision and as part of a team

- Well-presented, positive attitude, strong work ethic and a strong willingness to learn

- Ability to follow established procedures, practices and follow instructions
