Job description

The role creates the overall technical vision for a specific solution to a business problem. They design, describe, and manage the solution. In many ways, this person builds the bridge between a business problem and the technology solution and outlines each of the phases and requirements required to make that solution work. He/she must have a profound knowledge of available technologies to suggest the best solution according to the incoming requirements and existing environment, also seeks to balance various aspects of the project, from safety to design.

Responsibilities

  • Matching solutions with the corporate environment, building and integrating information systems to meet the company’s needs.
  • Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it.
  • Resolving technical problems as they arise, and assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have.
  • Continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed, and selecting/proposing the project technology stack.
  • Account for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources and scope
  • Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates
  • Propose and establish framework for necessary contributions from various departments
  • Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented.
  • Providing updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs, and budgets.
  • Working closely with colleagues across IT to automate deployment across all digital channels
  • Create and implement best practice quality strategy, policies/processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance.

Job requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • Project management and leadership skills are essential, strong work ethic, and excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience developing IT and cloud infrastructure, AWS Certified Solutions Architect is an advantage
  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
  • Hands-on experience with architecture design, software development life cycle and system administration
  • Demonstrated experience in B2B mobile application development for large enterprises
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including solid understanding of standard data structures and algorithms
  • Experience with database design and data modeling
  • Proficient knowledge of the operation and development designs of agile software, DevOps best practices, CI/CD deployment..
  • Strong soft skills, including attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficient understanding of build tools and code versioning tools, such as GitLab/SVN
