Work with the USA team and Engineering Director to fully understand part design requirements and integrate requirements into the blow mold design.
Using Scientific Molding techniques, improves and optimizes blow mold designs for productivity, longevity, and manufacturability of products.
Manages complex projects and maintains tight project timelines and technical quality.
Research problems and develop and present solutions to improve tooling standards, design for manufacturing guidelines, low-cost alternatives, assess new materials and material performance, and new tooling processes in the USA’s factory remotely or on-site.
Serves to Ashleys engineering team and acts as technical lead overseeing mold sampling, DOEs, material samples, engineering changes, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and transitioning molds from trial to production.
Coordinates with Ashley’s manufacturing, quality, operations, program management, and other departments as required to ensure the timely completion of projects.
Maintains part and tool design files.

Other tasks are assigned by the direct manager.

Education: Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.)

Experience, Skills, and Abilities

4 to 6 years of related experience in a plastics manufacturing environment
5+ years’ experience in Blow Mold Design and Engineering experience with strong 3D CAD design skills required.
Must be able to identify and understand the function of all standard mold components.
Word Processing, Spreadsheet, and Database software experience.
Ability to learn new technology.
Must have a good working knowledge of calculations and formulas using applications within Excel.
Self-directed - operates with little or no direction.
Moldflow experience is a plus.
