Senior Control System Engineer (open for Engineer level)

Range of Responsibilities and authorities:

1.Operations Automation

General position description

The Control System Engineering Senior Level/Consultant is responsible for providing strategic guidance, executing tasks, providing procedures, architecting control system solutions, updating automation technologies, training, and coaching control system engineers, and defining clear directions for team development. The role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical and/or pneumatic systems for equipment, as well as ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Specific activities:

· Develop control system strategies aligned with organizational goals in cooperation with Supervisor.

· Design and develop electrical and pneumatic systems for equipment, considering process requirements and optimization opportunities.

· Architect control system solutions, including PLC and HMI codes, to enable machines/tools to meet defined process requirements.

· Update automation technologies and implement emerging tools.

· Provide guidance and mentorship to control system engineers.

· Define clear directions for team development in cooperation with Supervisor.

· Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

· Conduct training programs to enhance technical knowledge.

· Review and update control system documentation.

· Drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.

· Review existing machine designs to identify obsolete components and propose necessary upgrades.

· Collaborate with engineers and departments across the organization to ensure seamless integration of control systems with other disciplines.

· Liaise with other facilities of the organization, fostering knowledge sharing and best practice implementation.

· Provide support to industrial engineering teams in gathering information related to available equipment.

2.Strategy and Leadership.

· Define and implement the overall control system strategy, aligning it with organizational goals and objectives.

· Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction through control system enhancements.

· Evaluate and recommend new automation technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance control system capabilities.

3.Learning Development

· Train, mentor, and coach new control system engineers, sharing expertise and best practices.

· Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the technical capabilities of the control system engineering team.

· Define and implement clear directions for the professional development and career growth of team members.

4.Troubleshooting and Optimization

· Troubleshoot and debug hardware or software issues to ensure successful validation of equipment.

· Perform electrical measurements and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

· Participate in risk assessment activities, identifying potential problems and recommending mitigation strategies.

· Monitor progress and related costs, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget.
