Production Manager

JOB PURPOSE

The Production Manager oversees flexible packaging production, ensuring seamless execution of plans, swift issue resolution, and continuous improvement. Leveraging advanced Excel skills, they analyze Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) to optimize processes. With 5+ years of managerial experience, this role emphasizes leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and compliance with industry standards. The Production Manager contributes to achieving production goals, maintaining quality, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Planning and Execution:

• Monitor and oversee the production planning schedule to ensure timely execution of production orders.
• Collaborate with the production team to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
• Address any deviations from the production plan promptly and implement corrective actions.

Issue Resolution and Improvement Plans:

• Identify and analyze production issues, including but not limited to equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, and resource constraints.
• Develop improvement plans and solutions to enhance production efficiency and address recurring issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Operational Efficiency - OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency):

• Regularly evaluate the efficiency of production processes using OEE metrics.
• Analyze OEE data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance overall equipment efficiency.
• Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.

Spreadsheet Skills (Excel):

• Utilize advanced spreadsheet skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, to manage and analyze production data.
• Create and maintain detailed production reports, performance dashboards, and other relevant documentation.
• Implement data-driven decision-making processes to improve production outcomes.

Language Proficiency:

• Demonstrate proficiency in English and/or Chinese, both written and verbal.
• Effectively communicate with team members, management, and other stakeholders in the preferred language(s).
• Ensure accurate and clear documentation of production plans, reports, and improvement initiatives.

Team Collaboration:

• Foster a collaborative work environment by working closely with production, quality assurance, maintenance, and other relevant departments.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the production team to ensure goals are met efficiently and effectively.

Quality Assurance:

• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to maintain and improve product quality standards.
• Implement measures to reduce defects and ensure that products meet or exceed customer expectations.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay informed about industry regulations and standards related to flexible packaging.
• Ensure that production processes comply with relevant regulations and safety standards.

Continuous Learning and Development:

• Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in flexible packaging production.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the production team.
