PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Software Product Analyst is responsible for analyzing, evaluating and aiding in the development of software products to meet the needs of the company and its customers. He/she is responsible for creating user-oriented software requirements and specifications and, as required, the testing of products designed to meet those requirements. Together with Engineering team to testing responsibilities include developing validation & verification plans, reports, and test scripts, and executing those plans and test scripts manually or by using automated testing tools. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the creation and validation of user and regulatory documentation for each software release.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with the engineering, VELA teams to secure input and align priorities

  • Conduct discovery and requirements development in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders for feature enhancements to our suite of technology products

  • Prioritize and maintain software development backlogs in collaboration with our engineering team

  • Serve as the Voice of the Customer on multiple engineering scrum teams, ensuring that the technology solutions that we build are solving real problems for the users that they serve

  • Generate ideas for novel features that have an unassailable business case; surface,

  • Use metrics and data to measure the effectiveness of our products and d rive improvement

  • Perform in-depth competitive analysis of other product offerings; maintain collection of competitive collateral; create and maintain a feature/functionality matrix for all market players

  • Conduct market research and customer needs assessments to fuel planning and clarify requirements; create and run product advisory council(s) with VELA teams to understand needs and evaluate product and enhancement ideas

Exigences de l’emploi

  • Technical software development background

  • Familiarity with agile software development processes

  • Strong collaborative teamwork skills working with technical groups but also non-technical groups on technical issues

  • Strong analytic and synthesis skills; ability to boil down market findings into product initiatives

  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and creativity

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Product mindset with a demonstrated knack for leveraging technology and data to improve user experience

  • A fast learner, ability to multi-task and work independently under high pressure
